B.R.E. Pastoral – Tyndale Bible College & Seminary University

M.R.E. – McMaster Divinity College

M.Div.  – McMaster Divinity College

Born and raised in Hamilton ON.

Like so many other young people, there was a time when I was searching not just for answers to the longing of my heart, but trying to discover why I was even born. Where was I going and what was life really all about? Today, people ask, “Does my life matter?” During my teen years I found some of the answers when I came to Christ through the ministry of Youth For Christ Canada. In the next couple of years I did what many young teen did back then, I became involved with a local church. It wasn’t until I was about 14 that I felt God calling me into ministry. At the same time I also felt the call of money. I had to make a decision. I went to work at Dofasco in Hamilton the week after I finished high school. God still had other plans for me and I left my dream job within a year to follow God’s call that I could no longer deny.

After graduating from Tyndale Bible College and Seminary University, I began ministry at my first church in central Saskatchewan. It’s been an interesting journey for me as I have followed God in many directions.

In all these years I have discovered something many church haven’t. Church needs to be full of joy. Some read that as, ‘fun’. Ask a teen what they like to do and they say, “Have Fun!”. Ask a twenty something what they want to do and they reply, “Have FUN!”.  That is what I believe the church needs.  Get rid of the stuffiness and lets have fun together with God which equals JOY! After all I believe God had fun creating the world and everything we live in. Think giraffe or mosquito.

In my spare time I am learning to have fun with the art of clock and watch repair from a wonderful senior watchmaker. I also love working with leaded stained glass. Both of these pastimes relaxes me as I get into either one and I am always looking for the next project to get my hands into.

If you are like me and have unanswered questions, as do many of us, feel free to come and join the fun with us or give us a call or email.  I might not have all the answers but we know the God who does.

Peace

Rob
